Kuala Lumpur
About City
Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and is located in the heart of the state of Selangor. The city is situated in mountainous foothills, with mountains surrounding it from all sides except the east, which is why Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas are called Klang, meaning valley. Additionally, because the city is located at the confluence of the Klang and Gombak rivers, it is also called the muddy capital.
Currently, the fastest growth of industrial and economic forms in Malaysia is directed toward Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding urban areas.
Despite the transfer of Malaysia's administrative and governmental capital to Putrajaya, most government centers related to commerce, such as the Central Bank of Malaysia, Malaysian companies, the Securities Commission, as well as many embassies, remain in Kuala Lumpur.
Kuala Lumpur is the economic and business center of Malaysia. It is indeed the center for finance, insurance, real estate, media, and the arts in the country. Infrastructure development in surrounding areas, such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Klang Port, has significantly contributed to the economic strengthening of this city.
