This country shares land borders with Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south. The UAE is also neighbors with Qatar and Iran via the waters of the Persian Gulf.

The United Arab Emirates is a country located on the Persian Gulf, formed through the union of seven sheikhdoms in 1971. The seven sheikhdoms of this country are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, and Ajman. Abu Dhabi is the largest sheikhdom, and Dubai is the second largest.

Most of this land consists of desert. There are also two mountain ranges in the country. The country's coastlines, where the majority of the population resides, are mainly covered with salt flats. The Hajar Mountains in the Musandam Peninsula are among the important highlands of the UAE. The highest point in the UAE is the summit of Al-Hajar, with an elevation of 1,189 meters. The country's terrain, except for the Jijar Mountains in the east, consists of low-lying desert. There are no year-round flowing rivers in this country.

Climate of the UAE

The UAE has a tropical climate, with hot and humid summers and mild winters. It does not rain much throughout the year, and rainfall occurs mainly in winter. The annual rainfall is about 13 centimeters. Sandstorms are common in late winter and during winter. The average temperature in January is 33°C, and in July it is 17°C.

The sky in Dubai is sunny all year round. The weather is hot, reaching 48°C in summer. In winter, the temperature also reaches 10°C above zero.

The currency of the UAE is the Dirham.

Relying on the export of oil and natural gas reserves both offshore and onshore, this country has one of the highest standards of living in the world.

Ship repair yards, fertilizer factories, banking, commerce, international airports, and commercial centers are part of the UAE's industry. In this country, immigrants from Iran and the Indian subcontinent make up the majority of the workforce. Agriculture in the UAE is limited to oases and a few coastal locations irrigated with desalinated water. Tourism is one of the most fundamental pillars of the UAE's economy.

The GDP of this country is 167.3 billion US dollars. Three million sixty-five thousand people make up the country's workforce. The unemployment rate is 2.4%. 19.5% of its people live below the poverty line. In 2007, the inflation rate was 11%.

There is no currency control policy in this country. Many commercial banks operate under the supervision of the Central Bank. No personal tax is collected in this country.

The UAE produces 2,540,000 barrels of oil per day, all of which is exported. The country's oil consumption is 372,000 barrels per day, which it imports.

The country's export products include crude oil, natural gas, transit goods, dried fish, and dates, exported to Japan (23.4%), South Korea (10.3%), Thailand (5%), and India (4.8%).

The country's import products include machinery and transport equipment, chemicals, and food, imported from China (13.1%), India (10.2%), the United States (8.9%), Japan (6.2%), Germany (6.1%), and Italy (4.7%).

برای ورود به هر کدام از شهرهای امارات، باید ویزای امارات متحده عربی را داشته باشید. ویزای توریستی امارات معمولا ۱۴ روزه است و هر ویزا به مدت یک ماه اعتبار دارد؛ یعنی با ویزای توریستی امارات شما حق ۱۴ روز اقامت در شهر مورد نظرتان را دارید. البته دریافت ویزای یک ماهه و سه ماهه هم از امارات امکان پذیر است و با انتخاب این نوع از ویزا شما امکان یک یا سه ماه اقامت در شهر مورد نظرتان را دارید.

ویزای امارات در دو نوع عادی و اضطراری اخذ می‌شود. دریافت ویزای عادی معمولا ۷ روز کاری و ویزای اضطراری حدود ۳ روز کاری زمان می‌برد.
